Other business opportunties:

Photovoltaic power station (Solar farming project)

This project is in Elgeyo/Marakwet County. Agriken is in collaboration with the Elgeyo / Marakwet County looking for companies to launch a Photovoltaic Solar Energy Power Station in Elgeyo / Marakwet County. The project will need investment from the start. The project will improve the living standard of local population through employment. The energy produced is supplied to the national network. It will also provide access to affordable electricity to the Residence of the County. At present, the power supply to Elgeyo / Marakwet is 2.5 megawatts. consumption is only 30% of connectivity, which means that if the project needs to cover 100% connectivity, it requires 7.5 megawatts. If industries are set up in the future, it will need a total of 10 megawatts.

Housing and Infrastructure (Low Cost Housing for students)

Due to the increasing population in Uasin Gishu, more housing is needed. The Universities in Eldoret lack affordable housing for them is urgently needed. Therefore, we invite you to build homes that you can sell or rent to the middle class working class. Land is available for lease and you will work with the County Government under private public partnership
Due to lack of housing, most middle-class workers live in Uasin Gishu County, which is approximately 150 km from the city of ITEN, where the county government is located. The need to bring affordable house near is desired.

Agricultural sector

The most important agricultural activities are dairy farming. This requires value addition and sustainability technology. There is also the cultivation of corn, potato cotton by small scale farmers. This however has to be enlarged so as to create medium enterprise farmers that solely relay on the crop for income generation. Growing of vegetables and fruits (such as mangoes, avocados , French beans, passion fruits, Gooseberry (physalis) , sugar apple. Herbs such as Rosemary, lemon balm, spear mint, poppy royal mint, tropical mint, parsley and apple mint). These farmers grow them in small scale. There is a huge potential to empower the farmers to grow in large quantity or export.

There are opportunities to start a food processing factory (value addition). We are also looking for companies that can bring innovative ways to store mangoes, potatoes and other agricultural products.

Health Care sector

Kenya’s healthcare has benefited in recent years from a significant impact of new capital, as private investors rush to benefit from new growth opportunities in hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and human resource development. This is because the country’s public health system has a patient capacity tax and insufficient funding. Out-of-pocket payments have already been charged for a significant amount of healthcare spending in Kenya, with the growing middle class of the country further supported by private growth. New investment in training activities should help the private sector to improve human resources, even as the increasing number of government agencies transition to the private sector. In Uasin Gishu County, there are not enough hospitals for the increasing population. There is thus a huge market opportunity in better health for companies to invest in this sector.
